Many Christians today function on the misconception that if you are attending a local church that you will automatically go to heaven. Those of us in the church must continually be mindful of God’s love for them by sending his son Jesus Christ and paying the sin debt for us that no one else can ever pay. In the final two verses of the gospel of Matthew, our Lord Jesus Christ has given a commandment to all of those who have been saved and have become his disciples. He is depending on us to follow his command as we show our gratitude to our father for showing his mercy toward us. We must show our thankfulness not just on Sunday, but as we live day by day.
