The Importance of Contentment (Part 1)

In a sense, contentment is the absence of worry—whether it’s about who we are, what we have or don’t have, or what our condition is in life. Many Christians today struggle to be content. Much of the world today functions in discontentment; but the Bible teaches us that in God we are to be content with whatever we have. In the 4th chapter of the Apostle Paul’s letter to the Philippian Church; Paul discusses his feelings about times of having little vs times of having abundance.

Message 17

“For we cannot but speak the things which we have seen and heard.” (Acts 4:20)

Somewhere in California during the gold rush of 1849, the story is told of two gold miners who struck a particularly rich vein of gold one day. They decided not to tell anyone else, so they could keep it for themselves.

They went into town to get better equipment to mine the gold, but when they left scores of people followed. Their jubilation was written all over their face.

Is what’s in your heart written all over your face? I pray each person reading this today will not hide what they have found in Jesus Christ. I want people who see you and me today to say, “I don’t know what is going on with them, but I want what they have.

The gift of salvation is for us but it is also for others to behold and desire in us.

How are you going to tell someone about Jesus today? What are you going to tell them?

Intimate in Christ

Christians live today in turbulent times. How do you see your relationship with Christ? Do you feel that going to church every week produces a personal relationship with Him just because your there? How would you describe your gratitude toward someone who saved your life? In the 15th chapter of the Gospel of John; Jesus uses a metaphor to describe the nature of a believer’s personal relationship with Him.
